Review on Cuisinart MCP194-20N MultiClad Pro Stainless Steel 4-Quart Saucepan with Lid - Top Pick for Kitchen Cookware by Tracy Anderson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Professional review. Cuisinart works just as well as All-Clad.

Superb practicality is what sets this 4 quart gemstone apart. ATK did not test this pan when they awarded the Tramontina pan for best prize. ATK used "Chef Classic", which is not a full 3-layer pan, but a multi-layer bottom pan. I ordered both this and the Tramontina pan to compare to the All-Clad I already own. I chose Cuisinart because it's a lot prettier than All-Clad or Tramontina. The all-clad skillet has a tapered, thin handle that makes it much harder to control heavy ingredients than the Cuisinart. The lack of an edge makes the All-Clad obnoxious and almost useless in an active kitchen environment. The Tramontina lip is huge and looks ridiculous, but it doesn't provide a better seal or serve any other functional purpose. Cuisinarts corners can be removed with a whisk. as easy as my all-clad. This was one of the ATK validation criteria. I already have a full set of Cuisinart Chef Classic pans so all the lids are interchangeable. I own Chef Classic pans before Cuisinart started making Multiclad pans. Aside from the sides getting very hot, like a standard black steel pot, and cream-based ingredients can burn if you don't know what you're doing (as mentioned by ATK), I had no complaints. The Cuisinart works AS GOOD as the All-Clothed and costs less than any other pan. A plus for Tramontina. It has an extra handle that makes it easier to empty the contents of the pots into a colander or drain. I have found that an oven mitt or oven mitt works well with all pots in these situations as even the assist handle gets quite hot on a gas range. Shop the entire Cuisinart Multiclad Pro kit. and you still have money to buy a new dishwasher?
