Unlike other threadlockers, Loctite 290 "green” penetrates the assembled fasteners by capillary action. This allows you to fully assemble the workpiece without having to worry about setting the threadlocker before setting and tightening everything to the desired condition. It is thin and fluid and appears to contain more volatile organic compounds than other versions of Loctite. This is for joining metal to metal. Your fasteners should be clean and dry and free of oil and grease. I am very pleased with the usefulness and effectiveness of this product and the entire Loctite threadlocker family. As another reviewer pointed out, the illustration is wrong. This is for a 10ml bottle which will last for several years for an average user like me.
