My mattress arrived very quickly. Nicely packaged. When I opened the box my mattress was plastic and rolled up. As I cut through the plastic, I saw and heard it expand at the same time. There was a slight odor which is to be expected but nothing bad and I have no doubt it will go away within a day. It's only been about 10 minutes but it's already expanded quite a bit, although I can definitely say there's still room to grow. You won't notice the box spring bed in the pictures because we have family coming over and while they're here my friend and I will sleep on it, but when they're gone it will be my son's first big bed. UPDATE: Okay we installed the mattress and I've been sleeping on it for about a week now. It's fully "inflated" and measures about 8.5 inches instead of 9 inches, but there's nothing wrong with that. It's very comfortable. My previous mattress was also memory foam and I got it from stock for about $400, but this one beats it for comfort. Definitely recommend this mattress as it is very comfortable and very light on the wallet
