While this set looks fantastic, it's better for show than utility. If you are decorating your home, that would be great. Or perhaps for use in a guest room that only has occasional visitors. But if you are looking for a blanket for everyday use I would look elsewhere. Sewing begins to dissipate fairly quickly. Wash once and you'll have strands. By the second wash you have cotton. This is very bad because it is a thick and beautiful set. But it literally falls apart in a short time. Also an additional note, this is a very lavender or lilac shade of purple. Some photos on the web give it a slightly warmer, almost pink hue. But it's a very light purple.
