Review on πŸ”ͺ Sharp Pebble Waterstone Flattening for Effective Sharpening by Jeff Figueroa

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Complete crap, buy a real stone somewhere else. Not for serious sharpening.

Finally in use. What a crap. No better than using steel. I've also bought these 400/1000 and 3000/8000 but there is no correlation between the 'rating' of the grit. I have been using stones for 40 years and unfortunately I was completely wrong, after sharpening you can shave with my old stones, but these? useless as using a $3 sharpener from the grocery store. The instructions for BOTH say use 400 or 3000(!) for dull blades and above to get a clean blade. If 3000 is higher than 400 you will not make a dull blade! NO REAL DIFFERENCE. How can your own rating at 400 be the same as at 3000? A good basic grind if you like a semi-sharp knife. But sorry, if you're selling 400/1000 and 3000/8000, I expect 3000/8000 to be like a hard Arkansas, not like 400/1000. .3000/8000 also says to start at 3000 if you have a dull blade. SERIOUS? So 400 == 3000? Still, they have about the same benefit as any low grit stone in cheap sets, except these stones last longer. FOR ORIGINAL stone, not for serious sharpening. A synthetic stone manufacturer is looking for a way to sell its crap that was created independently of reality. To you.
