I've always been a fan of tone controls since I had my first eqx series 2 that day, the epicenter wasn't new to me but I just pull it on didn't get the taste. When I bought the Standard I was a bit dissatisfied with the controls, and most importantly only some tracks will sound good, others will be rubbish. You can turn the effect knob all the way up, but the effect is still there. I sold this unit as soon as I saw it in the dash with a built in microphone. Much happier now because as well as the sound level meter there's also a mute switch so you can turn the effect off at any time. My only complaints at the moment would be shipping them with a replacement chip at a lower frequency or maybe adding a kill function for the subsonic filter. I understand why, but at the same time I love deep, deep bass, at least sometimes. There's nothing to take a star off for as it's still solid management and worth it just for the meter.
