Bought to wash a sheepskin rug after reading the recommended brand from the company I bought the rug from. Just a tiny bit is all it takes in the washing machine to soak a rug (1 pelt size), 2 tablespoons for the entire washing machine in a heavy load, with cold/warm (not hot!) water. He removed a lot of dirt that wasn't even very visible at first. Bought because my baby slept on skin and wet bed. Thoroughly removed urine smell. I will also use it to wash wool sweaters and scarves. Doesn't foam, it's not designed to, so don't worry if it doesn't work. Let it absorb well, no additional rinsing is necessary as the lanolin oils protect the fibres. Spin it and hang to dry. It no longer smelled like soap, I bought it with no smell and after cleaning it is like new again! Highly recommended for sheepskin and other wool carpets.
