In March 2012 I had to replace the intake manifold on my 2002 Crown Victoria after running the heater core through coolant hoses, the nipple broke off. The distributor also developed the infamous thermostat housing leak that kept turning my engine valley into a coolant puddle so it was usually time to replace it. I really didn't feel like doing this work twice or worrying about the upholstery. self failing or something as this was my first (and hopefully only) time replacing an intake manifold. I've seen them and done some research and everyone who has used PermaDryPlus pads in any car has loved them and said that you almost never have to worry about leaks from your pads if you install them correctly. They also have "crush stop" rings that the bolts go through to prevent over tightening by a beginner like me. I actually did the job without a torque wrench because I just couldn't get my hands on it at the time (but you should still look up the correct torque specs and torque charts for your application and use a torque wrench if possible, I'm lucky). I would say they did a good job, it's been over a year now and the Valley motor is still completely dry and I have no vacuum leaks. I would highly recommend these pads if you want to get the job done right the first time with long lasting results. These are the best gaskets you can get for a 2v 4.6 engine and probably many more. The image to the right shows a comparison of the stock Felpro replacement seals which look almost the same as the stock Ford/Motorcraft seals but with red accents. instead of blue and PermaDryPlus pad on the left
