RKX Vacuum Reseal Rebuild Gasket Replacement Parts Review

The original smaller o-ring for the plastic hose adapter had a square profile and the new o-ring was a bit more difficult to install. A little Vaseline helped. The flat gasket from the pump to the cylinder head should be rubberized for better sealing.

Pump cleaned outside, part disassembled, inside thoroughly cleaned, fitted new seals and reassembled. It took about an hour or so. Tightened exactly to specification and it worked as advertised, not a drop of oil came out of the vacuum pump after the repair. Clean thoroughly and tighten thoroughly and it will work perfectly.

In my case the cover o-ring and valve o-ring worked fine. Installation was easy. The seal between the pump and motor was slightly leaking. I replaced it with an OEM unit and that fixed the leak. The one that came with the kit was flat and the original one had small ridges that helped with my application.

Easy to replace according to specified specification. The next morning the flow is worse than before. The main seal does not have the protrusions that were on the factory seal. The removal of this pump is very difficult depending on the vehicle. With my s4 I had space to get to the screws. Wasted two hours and now it leaks even worse.

I bought this thinking it would make a difference and it didn't work, I also followed T's instructions and watched the videos a few times. Make sure the area is free of old gasket residue etc and I still have a leak at the bottom of my vacuum pump. The metal spacer was bent too, that could be a problem but I don't know. Only $30 for nothing.

This is a great professional quality set that fits perfectly and performs exactly as expected. Love it! SO NICE that you got what you were hoping for and got it to work properly - no big little "differences" or anything that wasn't a 100% perfect fit. Very happy with this set of gaskets and o-rings. After replacing some of the coolant lines, belts and tensioners on my B8 S4, I noticed a significant leak at the vacuum pump. I looked up the part number online and found that Audi doesn't offer an OEM reseal kit. Luckily during my search I came across an RKX reseal kit. The installation took only 5 minutes. Update: After a couple of weeks the leak seems to have fixed itself and is no longer leaking between the outer cap and case. I'm glad my pump is finally leak free and potentially prolonging the need for replacement, but my 3 star rating remains due to the block requiring RTV sealant. a pump that flowed both between the block and the pump and inside the casing itself.
