This is a food processor and blender and good in its own right, but not a blender, at least not in the usual sense of the word. This device is good for chopping, whisking, and beating, but if you need a blender to make smoothies, this isn't my first choice. It can still be used as such, but the cup is too small for a large smoothie, meaning you'll have to refill and mix multiple batches to make a few servings. I would recommend it as a blender/food processor; It is slim and light but has good performance
