I don't normally use a toner because my skin is dry after using it, but I've had no problems with it. I usually use a face/beard moisturizer afterwards. As for the effectiveness of the product, I only gave it 4 stars. I've been using it for almost two weeks and can't say I've noticed any change in the way my skin looks. However, it clears my face. The detergent has a very mild and pleasant smell and I can see tiny particles in what I assume are charcoal. The only way to describe the fragrance is the smell of men's soap. You really don't need much to produce a good lather and I'm guessing a bottle of everyday use will last around 2 months, maybe longer. I would buy it again and I will come back and update my review if I notice any other notable differences.
