I bought it as an external monitor to use at home with my 16 inch Macbook Pro. The image quality is excellent for work (with Word, Excel, etc.). I haven't used it for gaming, but I think this monitor is acceptable. I spend more than 8 hours a day on the computer and I haven't noticed my eyes getting tired from this monitor. It has an anti-blue backlight, which is a nice feature. I gave the picture quality 4 stars as the clarity isn't that great As a retina display on a Mac, however, you can't beat the price. The product comes with its own HDMI cable which is fantastic. I liked this monitor so much that I bought another one.
