We love candles. They all worked right away after we put the batteries in. Tip, please read the instructions again and again, this will save you a lot of frustration. Suction cups and holders can be customized to suit your needs. Another hint, we wanted to put candles in nine windows on two floors. We wanted the candles to blink and change color in sync. Since the remote control range is only a foot or two, we place all candles in the box they came in, complete with suction cups. With the help of the remote control, we lit everything at the same time and simply walked through the house and placed it. Don't expect a huge light show. We live in the country so at night with only candles lit they look like distant twinkling stars. They are worth their price. Just a quick update. Yes, put all the candles in the box and use the remote control, everything works fine. We did this and all the candles were in sync. However, and we did not find this disappointing as the candles were still working well, after three days of use with the 6 hour timer we found that some (4) candles were out of sync with the others. For us, this wasn't a serious issue, but I wanted to make sure it was a fact. Happy Holidays.
