Note . This is an updated review. My initial review reflected a very positive initial experience, but mentioned an issue that arose after about 6 months of regular use. As you can see from the comment at the bottom of this review, the manufacturer got in touch with me and fixed the issue quickly, so I no longer have the issue I reported. I could not have asked for a better solution and am very grateful for the excellent customer service. The overview below has been updated to reflect their support. The stand has a strong, heavy base so it stays in place with almost any articulation of the holding arms for my iPhone and iPad Air. The clips that hold the device have a large gap in the middle. So by clamping the phone top and bottom, the charging cable can be easily connected and removed. The clips have strong springs so the device is very secure and they are thick enough to hold my iPad Air with a magnetic case. The base has a channel at the bottom to allow the charging cable (and/or speaker cables if you choose to go that route) to run neatly without pinching. And finally, they provide an Allen key to tighten the hinge at the bottom of the support arm so you can secure it in place. The bottom hinge also rotates 360 degrees horizontally. In addition to the device clips, there is a separate camera mount, making it useful as a desktop tablet/phone stand or desktop photo/camcorder stand. your device. The device holder attaches to the forearm with a plastic ball sandwiched between the two halves of a plastic sleeve that you tighten with the handle to hold the device at any angle. This offers the widest range of positioning options for your device. I used mine almost every day at my desk for about 6 months. At that point I had an issue with the device's holding capacity for plastic bullets/casings and the manufacturer gave permission to make the stand like new within a few days of contacting me about my concern. Block 4.5 stars. Deducting half a point from 5 stars just because it would be nice to have a lever to spread the clamps for inserting and ejecting the device (the springs are very strong - which is a good thing), and maybe use a more reliable clamping mechanism for that ball joint. It would have been nice to be able to adjust the bottom pivot without an Allen wrench, but this linkage takes the most stress. These are minor flaws and if the device continues to work I will probably buy another one.
