I needed some Christmas tree shapes for my clay class at school to make the spiral Christmas trees. Artists find it easier when they have that kind of support rather than a loose spiral. Florist Styrofoam cones cost INCREDIBLE so I bought them for a reasonable amount. We simply taped a paper cone around the traffic cone (make sure the paper cone is easy to put on and take off, or use a grocery bag instead and tape it shut lightly) and set about using the clay roll technique to make outstanding and tall Christmas trees . Fun, educational and inexpensive.
