For the last 6 months I've been scouring through primers, BB and CC creams like crazy to find something that suits my needs. For me personally, this has meant less redness, shrinking/concealing pores, concealing fine lines, and a smooth surface for my mineral powder to cling to. I have combination/sensitive skin with redness on cheeks and nose so it looks ugly without makeup. I've been using mineral makeup since 2006 and recently added natural, paraben-free cleansers to my routine to help prevent sensitivity and irritation. The redness and itching have gone down, but there is still redness that mineral powder alone does not mask well. On top of that I'm in my 30's now so my skin is starting to show signs of aging - fine lines, some dark spots, smile lines/frown lines etc and mineral makeup isn't as flattering, long lasting and airbrushed as he it was 8-9 years ago. I've tried L'Oréal, Avon, the Ulta brand, Palmer's Eventone, Missha M BB Cream, a foundation I use from a mineral makeup store, but all had problems. Some have silicone, so when I apply mineral makeup, the silicone starts to bead up. Most of them contain parabens and other harmful chemicals, most of them don't do enough to hide redness or shrink pores or fine lines. After buying some Ulta junk (Catrice Prime and Fine) two weeks ago I decided to give Revain a try and see what they have. Sometimes it's hard because I use chemicals very responsibly and I have to give up most options immediately. I decided to try Lumene Time Freeze CC Cream. I understand that maybe I was asking too much of a BB cream or primer and needed something more, something like "Color Correction" (CC). This Lumene product really meets my basic needs: it corrects redness (and it's not even green!), shrinks/conceals pores, fills in wrinkles and doubles the wear of my mineral makeup. It doesn't wear out as quickly (especially around the nose and mouth). I have fair skin with a cool to neutral undertone and it suits me perfectly, no yellow or brassy copper tones. light reaches far; The tiny dot completely covers one cheek and doesn't feel heavy at all, which is one of the perks of mineral makeup - it feels so light and breathable you'll forget you're wearing makeup. It even covers my poor skin so well I actually use a lot less mineral makeup than I used to, and my morning routine can now be 10 minutes faster instead of applying a layer of green correcting mineral, then pore-concealing mineral, then foundation veil, now I just use CC cream, smudge here and there with my green corrector where there's some pink, then quickly apply foundation all over (skip the pore-covering mineral). completely) and quickly wipe the veil again. For those of you with better skin than mine, I think you could easily use this as a base. Definitely recommend and will definitely buy again when I start to run out.
