I've been looking for a real microphone for a long time and couldn't decide between this and the Blue Snowball. In the end I settled on the Blue Yeti Whiteout version. If you want to record podcasts where the mic doesn't move and you're not banging on the table, typing, or playing games, then the mic itself is great. When streaming and/or recording gameplay you hear EVERYTHING which is VERY annoying. You won't be happy with the results, I promise you. After a little research I bought the signature Blue Compass shock absorber, foam windshield and outrigger mount, after which everything was 100% perfect. When it comes to accessories, the difference is very clear. In the end I am very happy with the microphone. It's better than using a headset mic (although it's pretty good) and I use it almost every day. But if you can't afford the bare minimum of accessories, I suggest waiting until you're disappointed.
