Review on ⏱️ Enhance Timing Precision with ESI 130 Self-Powered Timing Light by Brian Delgado

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Flashes reliably from engine speed

Other (cheaper) xenon time flash bulbs I've bought did not flash reliably at engine speeds well above idle; At maximum engine speed (approx. 3000 rpm), exactly where you really need them, they only flash sporadically or not at all. That's a good, solid value; It flashes every time the spark plug fires at speeds well above 4000 rpm (note: on a single-twin motorcycle engine, 4000 rpm corresponds to a flashing frequency of 33.3 Hz). And the self-powered feature means I don't have cramped power cords dangling uncomfortably from the car battery. Finally, the inductive sensor clamp assembly is made of sheet metal and not plastic; These are usually the most fragile parts on synchronizers, but this one is strong. The best I've ever had.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • The list is getting long.
