I wasn't expecting much and was pleasantly surprised by this device. I have 3 DAC dongles and several Bluetooth DAC AMPS. I came across this DAC and got some good reviews so I decided to give it a try. I like that it's small and compact, a nice departure from the other dangling keys. The options are nice and there are tonal shifts when you select the EQ options and the sound is very good. It has good volume boost and you can hear bass and treble boost which is nice. I'd love to see a companion app for more detailed EQ control, but you can't have everything at this price point. If you already have a decent equalizer on your phone or laptop/PC, you can fine-tune it. Overall it sounds decent, there's a very slight background hiss in the dead silence, but it's not overly important and you have to listen to it to appreciate it. As mentioned in regards to volume, you can hear this device pushing more mW than the average button. This power requirement eats up your phone's battery a bit, but I didn't notice any drain that bothered me.
