Review on ๐Ÿงผ Efficient Rowenta ZD100 Stainless Steel Soleplate Cleaner Kit: Achieve a Non-Toxic Clean for Your Steam Irons by Alfredo Testerman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

My living room is full of smoke. My iron is clean. That's great.

First of all, thanks to Rowenta for making an iron that lasted long enough, I even had to *worry* about cleaning the soleplate. My last three irons were Black & Deckers and they all died long before the sole broke. Okay, I've tried every home remedy to clean my stupid iron. Nothing worked. Vinegar? nope Baking powder? Great, now I have to clean all the steam holes; This is useful. Salt? nope Elbow grease and non-scratch sponge? My arm hurts; My iron is still black. This stuff? Is working. Generates a lot of smoke - as others have said, do it outside or install a fan in the room you are working in. My iron was practically black around the edges (see photo) and I had to deviate from the instructions. a little to get results. Just ironing the pad didn't create enough friction, in the end I turned the iron over again and applied the paste to the cloth and rubbed it with my hand which worked really well and I could see the results as I worked. Of course, there's a higher risk of first-degree burns, but to protect yourself from weird black marks on your clothes, it's worth the risk. It worked great. Keep in mind that if your iron has been covered in dirt for a year or more (mine was mostly just starch and detergent) you'll probably need to use an entire tube of cleaner. Still a lot cheaper than a new iron; And the cleaner doesn't smell bad either. It just smokes a lot.
