I love love love this spoon! My baby is 9 months old and has been taking a feeding spoon from my hand for a few months. I gave him an ordinary baby spoon, but the food fell off it immediately before it got into his mouth. So he hasn't really learned to feed himself. This spoon shortened the learning curve significantly and the second day he used the spoon he figured out how to put it to his mouth and by the third day he was actually sucking food out like a real spoon. It's designed to hold food in such a way that even turning the spoon keeps the food (well, most of it!). So when it finally gets into its mouth (usually first by accident) it still has something to eat. it and push it too far into your mouth. There are "petals" on this spoon that prevent this. I hope he learns how to scoop food soon, but he's come so far in a short amount of time that I'm happy with where he is now. Right now I'm spooning food for him and putting it on his tray for him to take himself.
