UPDATED At first we had problems with this product. If you also have problems, I recommend that you contact the seller. They helped us very quickly and solved all the problems we encountered. This is a great product that needs some tweaking to make it even better. We got this as a replacement for the awful one! This one really works. All colors on the control have the effect of dimming. The stand itself is a bit wobbly. We end up gluing magnets together where the ends meet because they just don't hold the moon's weight well. The battery life isn't that great. You need to charge it overnight after daily use (we use it as a night light for our kids). The moon we have seen previously was horrible in many ways and was only two colors when sixteen was claimed and would have lasted for several days. You don't want this to be knocked off the bookshelf because it will knock out the lightbulb and stop working. So charging is a bit difficult because for us it means moving the moon and charging it somewhere else. The cable is SHORT. I would definitely gift it again but can't give higher stars due to the short battery life compared to other models and the fact that you have to deal with the stand. Otherwise an excellent product.
