I bought this bean bag to replace a similar bean bag I've had for years. In between, I tried gel and "memory foam" for the palm rests. Both were encased in thick plastic which wasn't very comfortable, or flexed, became sticky in the heat and leaked the gel because the memory foam was encased in thick plastic. They both looked pretty cheesy too. While this palm rest isn't much to look at, it's not overtly terrible. It also conforms well to your body and offers good support. While the fabric doesn't seem overly strong, I use it with no problems and will happily replace it with another of the same type if worn or torn. It's not very expensive and is the best solution I've found. I personally find it more convenient than any other way I've tried. Even after several hours of computer work, I have no tension or cramps in my wrists. I have arthritis and this helps a lot.
