Solid mouse - software - a huge fire in the garbage

The mouse feels good in the hand and has a lot of comfortable and accessible buttons. When unpacking I was very excited. I've been using G Pro mice for years and love them, but felt like something was missing. I could tell right away that it would fill those gaps after getting my hands on it. But then I installed the software. I read that the G502 works with Logitech Gaming Software which is very easy to use and works great. In comparison, G Hub is a giant heap of garbage. It's like an alpha build and so buggy that everything good about this mouse is 100% overshadowed by this horrible software that Logitech is foisting on you. To be precise: - The user interface is terrible. It took me too long to figure out how to customize the buttons (I should mention I'm a software engineer). Set either button to cycle through the dpi settings and pressing it will set the lowest dpi (750). Popup in notification. - Logitech is for some unholy reason forcing you to use 4 dpi settings. No more and no less. I use 800 for gaming and 1200 for everything else and ended up having to set 750, 800, 1200 and 1250 to get close to what I wanted. It would be excruciating to switch between 4 settings instead of 2, although I still couldn't get the dpi to cycle through, so I assume nothing is lost there? somewhere around 3000). This was a total deal breaker, riddled with some pretty annoying issues that I could probably live with. - For heaven's sake, why does the software automatically update your dpi settings when you drag the dpi slider? It can be difficult to describe the feeling of trying to go from 3000 dpi to 800 dpi and sliding back and forth between each intermediate level. Trying to hit a number accurately while the mouse slowly changes speed is impossible. This is just one of the many omissions here. I would suggest skipping it until they release a new version of the software or until enough people complain that they drop it and go back to Logitech Gaming Software!
