I received these and was immediately impressed by the weight of the ceramic canister. I washed the container and lid before putting the coffee in and made sure they were completely dry before adding the coffee beans. Then I put the lid on and it literally fell from the top of the can onto the beans. NO PRESSURE! Without sealing, it is impossible to preserve the freshness of the coffee beans. The problem may go away or worsen with the onset of heat, but I won't experiment to find out. I have to return the revane. Thank you Revain for making my return so easy! UPDATE: I sent the canister back for an exchange. The new one seals much better; not perfect, but better. As mentioned in other reviews, the seal in the center of the canister is weak. The new canister seals the top 1/3 and bottom 1/3 very well.
