I bought these hiking boots to replace my old brown Moabs which diverged right at the toe flex point on either side of the boot. . Don't get me wrong, I love these boots, but there are some differences between old and new that you should be aware of. The tread of the old boots did not retain dirt at all - the grooves were wider and narrower. A walk across the lawn or a scratch through the shoe brush and I could enter the house without my wife's annoyance for throwing "shoe shit" all over the house. This boot profile has narrow grooves that lock in mud for hours. Boots must be removed to enter the house. The padding on these boots is thicker than previous Moabs for a comfortable fit but HOT in the summer. The lace-up boot in old Moab has the laces "tightened" but this one doesn't. I still love these boots but you should know the difference.
