For those who like to live in "modular" or "prefab" houses, we inevitably conclude that the structure can not keep up with stick building. One of the times you get this is when water hits your chipboard floor (and I use the term "flooring" lightly). Long story short, we didn't want to replace the entire floor at this point just because some of the screws were loose after the plastic flange broke and the toilet was crooked and leaking. We will later replace the entire floor with a real plywood floor but wanted to do this on our schedule. We tried some other "repair" methods for the broken flange, but the compromised chipboard just wouldn't let the screws hold and also went up too high. So we bought this and a patch flange and with more floor space to work with we're now solid and dependable again until we're ready to redo the floor. To be honest this will probably delay us longer, but I'm still looking for an excuse to redo much of this bathroom.
