Works well enough for large berries. 1-2 slips/hanging pits (dangling under a 6-box) are fairly typical. Here's what works best for me: place the berries stem-side up (stalks removed), slowly but firmly press the top down until it stops, then dip again once or twice. Lift the tray and look at the pit drip tray - if all 6 pits are in the bottom "bowl" everything is fine. If you see fewer than 6, you'll know immediately how many of them aren't missing, and often you'll know which ones too. Take a look at the bottom of the tray (you'll probably see 1-2 missing bones hanging from it). Remove them (by pulling the bottom of the berry bowl away from the top of the pitting bowl or by hand if stubborn "chids" appear), visually count the pits in the bowl, repeating as needed, until all 6 have been removed . Reset to the next 6 by emptying the pit bowl between reloads.
