Wrap the threads with at least 10 turns of teflon tape and apply thread sealant over the tape
These valves are very easy to install. It took me about half an hour to install. What makes installation really easy are the threaded ends. The others I checked out were soldered on (too much work for me but I didn't have to worry about burning my house down). . I paid less than $100 for it because I didn't mind. The quality of the valve is also excellent, the very thick brass hex is really good. A pressure relief valve was included which was also a good quilt. Flushing a water heater is very easy. Well that will be the yearly work I do now.
