I currently live in Colombia and purchased the manual version of this filter for a trip to the wilderness of eastern Colombia. Most of the people in our group bought lots of bottled water and had to carry it to the boats and then to our camp, but I only had my lightweight Survivor filter and a two-liter backpack for my water needs. I found it easy to walk down to the nearby river to fill my bladder and the filter quickly filled my bladder with crystal clear water. The amazing thing was how the water tasted! Shortly after I tried my filtered water, others asked if they could use it and so we all had great tasting water. After returning home to the mountains above Medellin, I started using it again after the tap water became cloudy after heavy rains. After my Colombian friend tasted the water from my Survivor filter, she was amazed and only drinks water that has passed through this filter. So I just bought a Survivor Pro X electrostatic precipitator to keep up with our increased usage. This is the same high quality I've come to expect from the Survivor Pro manual filter, but much faster. It plugs into a USB socket and quietly produces the water I'm used to. Highly recommended and I bought both filter systems so this is NOT a paid review.
