the goalkeeper. A thoughtless improvement that's worth every penny.

After looking at all the ways to tune or improve the car, it became clear that throttle modulation could actually work for the Touareg TDI. I decided to try this device. I treated this purchase with 100% skepticism and below is an honest review. The installation took less than 15 minutes. For the Touareg you need about 45. You have to dismantle three parts of the dashboard and also remove the accelerator pedal. The plug and play wiring harness was easy to connect. I first tested the car in Eco 2 mode. It turned the car into a dog. Just like winter mode on Volvo. That was great! I might see this as a useful addition for the future. I can even try out an entire tank in economy mode to see the obvious benefits. City +2 was the next mode. While it wasn't quite the difference between day and night, it was still noticeable. Shifting into 8th gear finally felt like a Range Rover or Cayenne. I came back from this little test and finished the installation. The second test started with race +2. Honestly. Impressive. The car feels alive. Who would have thought that oversampling the pedal output would have such an effect. TDI comes to life from one place. You almost get thrown into second gear. If you put it in third gear, you've already received a ticket. I tried the +4 race and found the car revs faster and shifts better. Sport+ mode. you don't need it It's just scary. Save this mode for track or off-road use. They weren't kidding. You can start normally with a light pedal press, but if you press more than 10% you'll turn red in literally a second. Nobody needs this mode. It's too erratic and feels like a trigger. It's like driving an old-fashioned muscle car with an ITB. Just click and whoosh. You're gone. Some more testing and I decided that city +4 to race +2 is a good spot for leading legs. Your Touareg looks like a different car. I had my other Touareg buddy try it out and he literally ordered the same part within seconds of returning the keys to me. It's not that he's "so good," it's that he's "so different." Less deceleration, more traction, less acceleration time, faster gear changes. Everything together makes this car better. I can't say you're going to win any drag races, but from 0-40 you better have a good grip and full attention because you'll be thrown back in your seat. All the power that was there is exactly the same. The difference is when you feel the change. I agree that it mimics the feel of a cable operated throttle. It's pretty nice. I would highly recommend it to anyone who wants to experience what the Touareg is truly capable of. Lots of torque, very fast.
