I had very low expectations. Serious. I edit images and make my living as a visual designer. I needed something that would allow me to scan my family's old slides and negatives very quickly. And I mean fast - I was counting on less than 10 seconds per scan. Surprisingly, I can scan in about 5 seconds per scan with this device! The quality is quite acceptable - provided you have an image editing program that allows you to color correct and edit the images you want to keep. Ignore all color, white balance and resolution settings and scan by default. I used the onboard composite video output to preview images on a 23-inch HP IPS 1920 x 1200 LCD. It was a waste of time. The preview is only useful for cropping and to see if the slide/negative is slightly blurry. I think the resolution is below VGA. If you're an experienced photo editor, don't worry about connecting to an external display. You can trust the preview on the elegant integrated display. to help you and your raw scans provide enough image data to work with sharpening, color correction and light dust/scratch removal. ) as many times as possible before you start.
