We bought these bags for the new vacuum machine. They are very easy to use and a lot cheaper than the textured pouches I used to use with our old Food Saver machine. I have frozen 40lbs of chicken as well as bacon, soups, stews etc and have never had a problem with these packages. My advice is to get this size for most things. These bags are strong enough to be washed and reused occasionally and inexpensive enough to be laundered and recycled after use.
