After trying various spontaneous ways to set up an iPad so two kids could watch a movie on a long journey, I finally broke down and bought this. Given the limitations of the car's interior, this seems like a good solution that will work with most/all cars. It's a little strange to set up and customize the first time, but once you see how the pieces work and are set up, it's an easy process. install or remove. It's a fairly light construction so I'm not sure how it will hold up for a few years or possible bumps from kids, but the construction seems solid and I was able to adjust and tighten everything so the iPad was very secure , without wobbling or tilting. What's really nice is that it's easy enough to put on and take off that I don't feel the need to keep it in the car. I only intend to install it when I know we are on a long journey of more than an hour or two. The rest of the time I just keep it in a closet at home. UPDATE January 1, 2016: I have used the mount 4 or 5 times in the last 6 months. It's super easy to set up for a drive - it takes me less than 15 seconds to put it in the driver's seat and my kids now know how to connect an iPad and set it up. I can connect a charging cable to my iPad to keep it charged on the go. The mount is still very strong, doesn't move or slide. The iPad stays in perfect position. We just got back from Lake Tahoe which took over 18 hours round trip. The mount worked great and my kids were able to watch a few movies during the trip. When we get home, it only takes 10 seconds to unlatch the handles and remove the bracket. A very well thought out product.
