Will not work with my Brother machine

These needles didn't work with my Brother sewing machine. They fit, but the double seams were not sewn. Only the right side will actually sew any lines. I've tried several times with no success. I then went back to the twin needle that came with the machine and it worked flawlessly. I couldn't figure out exactly what was wrong with these needles and the only difference I could see was that the needles weren't the same length.
