We recently bought 3 Unitary Brand metal lights as Christmas gifts for our son's house. The townhouse he'd bought a year ago had standard building amenities in the kitchen and dining room. They were boring and ugly. This light was for his dining area which had a bulkhead for ventilation next to where the light was to be installed. We reconfigured the light by attaching metal tubes to it, not as shown in the instructions. It turned out great and fitted the space well without touching the ventilation bulkhead. The light is now more asymmetrical than pictured and worked well as the base the light was meant to be placed on was off center in the dining room and the divider was very close to the base. We are very happy that we managed to do this. We actually bought 3 lights from different brands and reconfigured all 3. The lighting in his kitchen and dining room is now a talking point, as opposed to the dull lighting that used to be there. Great lights!
