I bought this to replace another 30ft cable that I used on the original Xbox One for several years. I don't know if this or the old cable was designed for wall use or not, but I've used both options anyway and had no problems. installed above the chimney. The old cable worked great for years and I still have a few of these used for 1080p sources. But when I upgraded to 4k for Xbox One x and 4k TV, the cable immediately lost signal and flickered at best before dying. I bought a signal booster, plugged it into the end of the old cable and voila, it worked! Well, something like that. I had to disconnect the amp from time to time and it usually worked after a try or two, then everything was ok until everything went off again and we repeated the process. After about 6 months I started watching more and more videos. and complete loss of sound with my old setup, including ones where it would come back on its own after a few seconds, sometimes requiring multiple manual resets on the amp like I had done before, and even instances where it would display all sorts of fun colors , but wrong picture. So I started looking for the best cable again. I had searched before and chose the booster because it was easier than going over the wall. This time I actually ordered Monoprice's Cabernet Series active cable before reading this review because it was supposed to be the best. Then I read more reviews and people with similar attitudes to mine reported less than stellar results. Order canceled and search again. That's when I came across this cable. All the reviews were positive, but none related specifically to the Xbox One let alone the Xbox One X. I found a review here saying it works great for PS4 Pro. I had reservations because all my research led me to believe that an active cable would most likely be a necessity. This cable is NOT an active cable. I took the plunge anyway because of all the positive feedback. I couldn't be happier. I put it through the wall first and used the signal booster just like I did with my old cable and everything worked fine, but I did notice some lag time when switching apps or when a particularly dark loading screen appeared. I would lose the signal before it came back on its own. So just for testing I removed the booster. REMOVING THE AMPLIFIER SOLVERS IT. The amp worked fine but he thought the signal was lost due to struggling with dark screens and therefore not getting the signal through to the TV. I want to stress that this is a very different problem than I had with the old cable. The old cable didn't show up properly at all without the booster. The new cable worked fine with the amp, but after I removed the amp the cable worked exactly as intended for a couple of weeks without a single disconnect. I got so used to wrestling with my setup when I turned it on that every time I had to hope and pray it would work it was almost stressful. Now it seems strange that everything works as it should, without any problems. Bottom line this cable does what it says on the tin, looks well made with good materials and delivers a full 4k signal from Xbox. an x, over 30 feet of cable, to a 4k TV with no problems. There will no longer be a stress test for this special cable. You have to buy it.
