Review on Acer Swift 3 Thin & Light Laptop - Full HD IPS, AMD Ryzen 7 4700U 8-Core with Radeon Graphics, 8GB DDR4, 1TB NVMe PCIe SSD - Wi-Fi 6, Backlit KB, Fingerprint Reader by o Bnh ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A great option for this money, I definitely recommend it!

Bought for field work, as a result it is used mainly for watching movies. The performance is sufficient for most office tasks, and judging by YouTube (I haven’t tried it myself), even serious games come with normal FPS at minimum settings. I used it with Pop!OS 20.04LTS with Regolith, when the system starts, about 5GB of RAM is free, 2GB is taken by the video system and another gig - operating system. Of the obvious disadvantages of using Linux: the sensor does not work, there is simply no firewood. And so - everything is smooth, loaded quickly. Full HD screen, probably this is not enough for someone, I quite liked it. In general, a very nice device, justifies its price.

Pros
  • Compact, lightweight (1 kg, 14 inches) Holds a charge well (6-8 hours of Internet, movies) Good performance Fast and spacious SSD (512 Gb)
Cons
  • 8 GB of RAM is probably not enough, despite the fact that the video card is integrated and eats part, but in general it is not critical, besides, you can deliver a little - up to 12 GB. If you install Linux, then there are no drivers for the fingerprint sensor
