Just got back from Jamaica and have used this item in the ocean and pool. It worked well. It is easy to expand and contract. It was comfortable to hold. Once I put my waterproof case on it, I don't have to take it apart anymore. But that's the problem: if you don't disassemble it DAILY, the cheap steel screw will rust. Why doesn't something that costs over $30 include stainless steel hardware when IT'S DESIGNED FOR WATER? And worst of all, the nut it screws into is permanently attached to the handle, so you can't even go out and buy upgraded metal hardware.
