This sound card does what it promises, turning the USB port into a headphone and microphone jack. I originally ordered this item thinking I had lost the adapter that came with the G430 headphones. However, I was able to locate the adapter the same day this adapter arrived. The good thing about this unit is that it works really well for a standard 2 channel stereo headphone jack. The ability to control the volume on the adapter is a huge plus. I didn't check the mic as I don't usually use it. However, when I used the adapter that came with the G430, it opened up the headphones' multi-channel stereo capabilities. I've decided to keep this adapter in case I need something similar later, and for the price it's not exactly a loss. So bottom line, if you absolutely need a sound card for whatever reason, then this device is worth it. If you want an adapter that would play multi-channel audio, then this adapter is not for you.
