EDIT: 02/11/2020; I've just tried using other eye colors and the backs are too big for blue, brown and red - so they're useless; If you try to use them, the eyes don't stay long - and not very "safe". Even though these eyes come in a cute case, there isn't room in the case for a pad, which is pointless. I wouldn't buy them again. ORIGINAL REVIEW: There were many options and I chose the cheapest one. These eyes were almost impossible to sew together on my crochet when I was trying to get it right, instead I had to turn the backing over so they clicked together. I wasn't sure what the correct path was since they don't provide instructions, but I had to look back at Amazon's product post to find out. In the end I think it's just as good to attach the back to the front, although on some projects it may spoil the look of the eye. But they fit snugly, and the child will never choke on them. I love the way the eyes look (I've only used black ones so far), they make my designs look so cute!
