*UPDATE 01/18/2020* After almost 4 years of continuous use of my Honeywell Hepa air purifiers, they still work! Now I have 3 of these great machines, I have replaced all 3 of my Honeywell round air filters. With regular maintenance and filter changes, these air purifiers still do an excellent job of filtering the air in my home. I still have two cats in my house and my asthma has gotten a little worse with age, but these Honeywell Hepa air filters are still doing an incredible job! Replacement filters are available cheaply and the devices run almost silently even at the lowest level. In summary, after 4 years I am still very satisfied with my purchase. For your health! Tom F.—Chicago, Illinois. My chronic allergies and sinusitis have forced me to use HEPA air filters in every room in my home. In the last 20 years I have had many different devices, almost all from Honeywell. While they all had the same basic functions and worked reasonably well, this unit is by far the best and quietest air filter I have ever owned. Consumer Reports rates this air filter very highly, and for good reason, as it's the best and most affordable unit on the market today. The device is very simple and offers double filtration: first comes a very thick activated carbon filter and then a very thick HEPA filter. Air is drawn in at the front of the unit where it passes through both filters and then exits through an air grille on the top of the unit just behind the controls. This makes it a great space saver that can be placed almost anywhere, especially against a wall. There are 4 levels of filtering: #1) MICROC, #2) GENERAL CLEANING, #3) ALLERGEN, and #4) TURBO. Level 1 MICROC is virtually silent, I've never had an air filter this quiet - this is the perfect level for watching a movie. #2) is a nice white noise that is barely audible and offers a lot of filtering. The 3rd and 4th stages offer excellent airflow and are much quieter than my other Honeywell filters. Although I still have a few Honeywell filters and use them daily around the house, I will be replacing them with this unit when my budget allows. In my search for this air filter, I looked very closely at similar units priced as low as $600. I was looking for an air filter that would provide excellent filtration yet be quiet so I could use it daily in my home theater room. After reviewing nearly 20 different devices and brands in the $200-$600 price range, reading consumer reports and Revain customer reviews, I was blown away by this Honeywell device for the price, the basic filtering method, and the very cool controls. Panels, the fact that I could place the unit against a wall, the convenient size of the unit and finally my positive experience with Honeywell products over the past 20 years. Ultimately I am very satisfied with the purchase and recommend this device. One final note, the ability to turn off the blue light on the control panel is a welcome upgrade over my other Honeywell devices. Thank you Honeywell & Revain!
