Good I/O Port Cards

I originally bought this two years ago because my Samsung 960 Pro wasn't up to speed and I wanted to see if I could improve its performance over my previous motherboard's m.2 socket 3 slot . The CrystalDiskMark tests I ran showed that each test measured performance to within 100MB/s of the initial performance of the m.2 slot. I also tested it on a newer x570 motherboard to confirm the same results. Ultimately, switching to an x16 adapter gave me the results I was looking for. Keep in mind that this is not a bad card at all. If anything, the consistent results are reassuring knowing that this can deliver speeds comparable to previous-gen m.2 slots. The bottom line is, if your board doesn't have m.2 slots, I would definitely recommend buying this adapter. If your board has earlier or even Gen4 m.2 slots, there is no point in buying it unless you need to install additional drives. Overall, it works well, is easy to install, and is of fairly reliable quality.
