Assembly was a bit clumsy due to lack of instructions, but easy enough. The package consists of three parts - the front part, the back with straps and the middle part - in the middle part there is a zipper that connects the front and back parts. The bag itself is roomy enough to comfortably fit my half-Fleming, and the mesh folds up like an origami cylinder for easy storage and folds back into the zipped pocket at the front of the pack. It's large and sturdy and comes with a rectangular piece of bottom pad that detaches and is lined with some sort of fleece - the pad itself looks like a piece of cardboard was used to give it its original shape. There is also an advertised leash inside which is used to prevent the pet from tossing about in the bag when walking - it is long enough to keep your pet safe and comfortable at the same time but if you are not put it on if you don't want to tie them down, you can easily move them out of the way. The bag itself is much larger than your average school bag, but with adjustable straps and two stabilizing buckles that run across the front of your body, this bag gets the job done.
