Necessary. Baptist loves covered dishes!

I got this one because the strap ran all over the case and not just sewn on top. Strsp where the zippers are. I was concerned that the weight of the utensils would damage the zipper teeth over time. And if it came loose it would be if you have a dish in that container. This element is supported by straps from below. Much better. wife loves it!
