A MUST-HAVE for NiCad batteries, extremely useful for the forgetful.

I'm forgetful. I connect nickel cadmium batteries to the charger because I know they can't be charged for more than 6 hours. I intend to return them and unplug them, but often find them still connected after a few days. I started charging my nickel cadmium batteries with a 24 hour timer which I set for 6 hours and then 18 hours, thinking that if I forget my items I would have more time to get them find and turn off. This trick is not needed with this device. I plug the charger/device into either a wall outlet or USB (or both), press a button between the outlets and the light comes on to indicate the device is on. Then I can forget it. They will charge for six hours, then the device will turn off. It doesn't turn on after 18 hours like the 24-hour timer above. Six hours and that's it, if I don't hit the button again, six more hours. My Black'n'Decker 18V "all with a battery" (3 drill bits, 2 flashlights, 1 circular saw, 1 planter, 1 weed) loves me. Too many batteries to worry about how long "this one" takes to charge. Don't worry about charging anymore. When the light goes out, six hours have passed and charging is complete. I first bought this item at a Walmart sale. I liked it so much that I went back and bought both of the others. Luckily I found another Walmart that still had this item and bought two more. That was May 2014. Hooray, my Christmas shopping is over. After Christmas I wanted more. Walmart ran out of them, Revane to my rescue. Revane said they had four in stock and I bought all four (I gave one as a Christmas present). I used one to charge our phones and tablets, two are reserved for parts. Revain's regular price was the same as Walmart's. Hmmm. I don't know how long they will last but my first one (April 2014) is still working. I'll update this if (if) it stops working.
