My original bearing wore out on my 2001 Civic and caused the clutch to wear uneven and eventually not grab anymore. This was an OEM Denso compressor. So I gave this kit a shot instead of replacing the entire compressor. I reused the coil, as it was fine, and probably better quality. I ended up using all 3 included shims behind the clutch, which put me slightly over the recommended spec, but it seems to be working fine. The toughest part was reaching the pivot bolt on the alternator to loosen the belt. I recommend getting at it from the underside, so you don't have to remove the power steering pump. It's crammed in there, but it's possible to do! I'll include the section from the FSM. Hopefully this helps someone. I will update this review as time goes by, so far so good!
