Great option without a hood.
I actually prefer the hoodless design. The fabric is thicker, better quality and the zipper is easy to use and should last as long as your kids can wear it. I like the tapered, more fitted design, it brightens it up a bit and makes it look a little less messy. They go almost anywhere without looking out of place. I like the three quarter sleeves because they don't get dirty or fray. They also look better as your long-limbed baby gradually outgrows them.
