Precisely conveys depth.

It shows you when SOMETHING is underneath. It may not be a fish, but it certainly shows that there is something there. Portability is good, just buy a rechargeable battery and you're good to go. The only thing it costs $30 for is that it tells you the depth accurately. It's not the best fish finder, but for $30 it's not the worst.
