The DEWALT DWE6421K Random Orbit 5" grinder was a perfect fit for me. I had a door jam problem; The frame is deformed. I tried sanding it down with a non-powered hand planer, but that didn't work because the planer leaves about 1cm (half an inch) of the door frame that it couldn't reach (where the frame meets the stops). ), but that also caused sticking. Also, the hand plane created some nasty kinks in the wood where its blade dug into the wood. The DWE6421K handles it all with ease. He got much closer to the stop than the planer could, and also quickly smoothed out the excesses made by the planer. Looking back, I didn't even have to buy a planer - I just had to get a Dewalt. I was amazed that I didn't need a mask, goggles, floor covering or even vacuuming afterwards. A small vacuum bag on a sander collected everything, although we're talking very thin wood and sanded paint. I love this little guy! this one is single speed. But looking back, that's more than enough. Easily change the grit of the sandpaper when you have different types of work.
